I bought Paige a dictionary for Christmas. The first word she looked up? "Apartment". The 2nd word??? "SEXY". Lord help me.

sick cat

Our cat seems to have a cold or allergies. Abby grabbed me when he appeared to be gesping for air and screamed..."Watch me!! Watch me!! I won't even laugh at him! See? I'm being nice even though he sounds so funny!!"

Giraffe

I put a turtleneck on Abby today. She was resisting all the way. Angerly she said, "Well what if I wanted to be a giraffe today? Huh? This only lets me be a turtle!"

She just cares

Mom had another surgery today. When I picked Paige up from school she asked, "Did your mom do ok today mommy? (not Grandma...but it was my mom that was hurt) I know you were worried.".. Holding back tears, I told her she was just fine.

Christmas ornaments

Dad told me that when they wre watching Abby and Paige the other day Abby grabbed a Santa ornament and something was broken with the face, so she turned it around and said "it can look like he is walking away"....

Christmas

Abby sat at breakfast today and asked me, "is it you that wraps our presents and then comes and wakes us up on Christmas morning really". I told her "no, Mom and dad wrap present under the tree and Santa leaves some unwrapped presents for you and your sister." "Well I don't like that!" I told her that was tough because Santa cannot wrap all presents, he is too busy since he has to go all around the world. She looked down at her cereal and said with certainty, "Well but not to Australia. Rudolph is afraid of those people in Australia." I asked, "Why"? She told me, they are just so weird.. But can we go there someday mom?" Ofcourse Abby. Ofcourse.

Weebo

Paige has had alot of fears lately. Fear of house fire, fear of kidnapping in our house, fear of the dark and fear of our early death. So it was no surprise last night when she had a bad dream (about my two deceased brothers getting in a plane crash) and I went in to sleep with her. When we woke up , I explained what rare meant and how the things she fears are very rare. And when she hears of people breaking into a house it is whilethe people are not home anyway and the person only wants stuff to steal, not people (hey!! It was 5 am !! It was the best I could do at the time!!) "Was it rare that you and daddy were in a tornado?" "Um.. yes.. But daddy and I are SO safe.. and we would do anything to keep you just as safe." She sat a minute. Looked at me. Then she said, " If robbers came into our house..I KNOW it won't happen mommy.. but IF it did, I just hope they don't take weebo (her security blanket she has had since birth).

Bed time

As the girls were getting ready for bed Paige wanted me to read and I didn't want to. I told them Brad would read to them so Abby told Paige, " It's ok Paige.. It's Fancy Nancy and Dad is pretty good at reading this one".

My laugh

Abby said, "Yesterday my teacher told me that my laugh sounded JUST like Paige, and know what I did Mommy? I looked at her an' said, 'WHAT are you talking about?' I knew she was probably just saying something silly."
